HEADLINES: 2008

JUNE 18, 2008: Let me give thanks to the good folks at cdjapan who emailed me info last week about an upcoming new album ('scuse me, CD. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm dating myself!) from Kei-chan due to be released in early August. However, as of this writing, there isn't much else I can tell you about it, no title, no track listing, hell, not even a cover image, all I know that it's coming out on August 6th and costs twenty-five bucks American. In any event, this figures to be the very first album of all new music from Kei-chan since "Voice Cologne" in 1990, eighteen years ago. Needless to say, I'm pretty darn jazzed about it as a fan of Kei. Once I come into more info on her album, I'll be sure to let everyone know. Stay tuned!

SEPTEMBER 4, 2008: A scant few days after the September features went up on the site, I got a message from a fellow Pink Lady fan which included a link to a YouTube video, after clicking on it, I was nothing short of amazed to have viewed a two plus minute puff piece on Kei-chan that ran on---get this---CNN! That's right, folks, C-freaking-NN! The gist of the piece was about how youthful Japanese women looked when they reached middle age, and Kei, fresh off a promotional appearance at a Tokyo HMV music tour for her just released CD "Now & Then" was a prime example of those aforementioned youthful middle aged women. To quote John Travolta from Broken Arrow: "Ain't it cool?" You can check out the video for yourself HERE!

SEPTEMBER 10: Speaking of YouTube, after reading numerous comments on the 2004 version of "Pepper Keibu" from the Pink Lady Choreography, Japan's uber-popular Menudo-like pop group, Morning Musume will release a cover of the song, due out later this month. For anyone unfamiliar with MM or are curious about the group, you can learn about them HERE. And, thanks to YouTube, here's the VIDEO of MM doing PK.
